Uploading your Commercial Web Site

  1. Open WS_FTP

  3. If you don't see the Session Profile screen, click on Connect, then click on New.
  4. In the Profile Name: field, type in my website. (This can be anything)
  5. In the Host Name: field, type in ftp.nni.com
  6. In Host Type: field, select Automatic detect.
  7. If you wish to save your password, select Save Password.
  8. In the User ID: field, type in the username.
  9. In the Password: field, type in your password.
  10. Click OK to connect to server. You should see a screen similar to below when connected. Your domain name should appear in the right top address bar.

  11. On the left hand side, navigate to the folder were your website is located. Use the green up arrow to go up a level, double click on folders to open them. You will probably start in the folder where WS-ftp was installed and have to go up to My Documents and back down to wherever your web site files are located.
  12. Select the files you wish to transfer then click on the right arrow.
  13. Once you see the files on the right hand side, your files have been transferred.
  14. To bring files down to your computer, select them in the right pane and click the left arrow.
  15. To save your connection directories for next time click the Options button. (Your buttons will probably be at the bottom by default, their position can be changed under the Display tab) It should open the following window:

    If it is not on the Sessions tab, select the Sessions tab and click the button "Save Current Directories as Connection Directories."
