Dial Up Networking
Settings
- Click on the start button , highlight Settings then click on Dial Up
Networking.


- Double click on nni.com

- In the username field should be your username and in the password field
should be your password. (Make sure that your username and password is in all lower
case letters and there is no spaces.)
- In the Phone number field should be the local access number. (List of access
numbers.)
- Click on Properties.

- In the box just under Connect using: should be the name of your
modem.
- Click on Networking
- Just under Type of Dial-Up Server it should read PPP: Internet,
Windows 2000/NT, Windows ME.
- Under the Advanced Options: section, Enable software compression
should have a checkmark.
- Under the Allowed network protocols: section, only TCP/IP
should have a checkmark.
- Click on the TCP/IP Settings button.

- At the top of the TCP/IP Settings screen Server assigned IP
Address should have a black dot next to it.
- Server assigned name server addresses should have a black dot next
to it.
- At the bottom Use IP header compression and Use default gateway
on remote network should have a checkmark next to it
- Click OK.
- Click on the Security tab.
- Under the Authentication: section, in the User name: field
should be your username. (all lower case letters with no spaces.)
- In the Password: field should be your password. (also lower case
letters with no spaces.)
- The Domain: field should be left blank.
- Under the Advanced Security options: nothing should have a
checkmark.
- Click on the Dialing tab.

- Make sure there is a checkmark for "This is the default Internet
connection:". Just below that Always dial my default connection
should be selected.
- Also make sure there is a checkmark for "Disconnect when connection
may no longer be needed".
- Click on OK. Then click on Cancel.
