Mirc Setup

1. Open Mirc.



2. Click on File, then click on Options.



3. In the drop down menu list at the top of the screen, select the server you wish to connect to.
4. In the Full Name field, type in your name.
5. In the Email Address field, type in your email address.
6. In the Nickname field, type in a nickname you wish to use to chat with.
7. In the Alternative field, type in your second choice for a nickname.
8. Click Ok.



9. To connect, click on File, then click on Connect.
10. To join a channel, type in /join #channel. For example, if you never used IRC before, type in /join #newbie. In this channel you can ask people questions about IRC. It is for beginners and is a good place to start.

12. To prevent getting a virus on IRC, do not accept any files from a stranger.
